“At Kitworld we are extremely proud to continue our long term relationship with Rugby Against Cancer. We first became involved with this charity 24 months ago, and Daniel Parkes (MD) was delighted to be able to work with a charity on such a direct topic such as cancer. Within our business we have all been touched with the loss of someone we care for or love due to this disease and we hope that by offering our support and making donations to the charity it will enable the research to continue and allow us to put back into the community.

We hope over the next few years the charity grows and continues to get the recognition that it deserves,  and at Kitworld we are proud to support this and we will be promoting the charity on all our social media channels.

All the best to Aaron and the team.”

Ian Hurst had this to say- “Anyone diagnosed, or affected first hand by someone who is diagnosed with cancer will appreciate the huge mental strain that goes hand in hand with the physical illness. This is often overlooked; however, we want to provide practical help and support to anyone who needs it and reduce the gap between finding the appropriate professional services, whatever that may be for their individual needs.

Partnering with agile, innovative organisations such as Rugby Against Cancer is an honour, being able to support in any way we can is a privilege.

So who are “We Are Hummingbird”?

We are Hummingbird (WAHB) was formed 5 years ago after the tragic suicide of a close friend. It was this loss that inspired the creation of WAHB and our goal, to try and prevent, where possible, it happens to others. A growing social community is being created, affectionately known as ‘Hummingbirds’, who look after each other as well as their friends.

We believe, when it comes to Mental Health, that it should have the same care and attention given to it as physical health.

Through thoughtful created, hand-picked Spotify playlists, intimate acoustic sessions on our YouTube channel and a growing presence at musical events, we are telling more people our story. Our aim is to encourage awareness of good Mental Health and suicide prevention. In the last year, we have broadened our reach again through our exciting and rapidly growing Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and Suicide Prevention & Intervention (SFA) training company. In workplaces and individual groups, we are giving people the tools required to support and manage their and other mental health. All with the aim to reduce the time taken for people to find the help they need, one day and one person at a time, WAHB is attempting to change the perception of Mental Health and suicide through music.

P3 Mortgage Group

P3 Mortgage Group Ltd became aware of Rugby Against Cancer earlier in 2021 through a friend who plays Rugby and also supports the cause via his business.

The first thing that struck us was the overall spirit of support, unity and camaraderie within the rugby community that the charity clearly adopts and produces.

P3 Mortgage Group have always been eager to get involved in worthwhile, local community charities that help people that unfortunately, through no fault of their own, tend to get left behind or overshadowed by larger charities.

We spent a fantastic day with the Rugby Against Cancer team and the Rugby family at Petersfield Rugby Club when they played the Pacific Islanders.

We really could not have felt anymore welcome. The team, the families and supporters of the game had such a wonderful day and fully supported the raising of a great deal of money for the cause.

We will continue to support them and their community, as not only Rugby Against Cancer’s awareness growing, but the evidence of how much their help is appreciated and welcomed by families affected by this disease is breath taking!

What is not to like about getting involved with these guys and gals!!
